Default Garf

Alright so I just placed my first order for grunge. For those of you who have used GARF, how long should I wait before getting back on the phone to jump butt? lol I hear their product is pretty good but that I might have to keep on them to get my crap shipped.

I thought it had been a while. I ordered some corals on Jan. 7, they have the money, I have no corals, and no response yet. YIKES The corals were not from GARF

Deb: YIKES, indeed. I think you should email Leroy.

I ordered 4 lbs to replenish the sand beds. I am assuming S & H will be about the usual $30. I know it cannot be too exciting, Ed ordered from there and I know that he would not pay an outrageous amount.

If I were you Debra, I'd cancel the order and get some corals from someplace else instead. If you can't get a hold of them, contact your credit card company and file a dispute if they billed your cc company already. If they didn't bill them yet, have them block the transaction.

Becky - Let us know once you get your stuff what you think of it and how long it takes to arrive.

I have heard mixed reviews. Everyone I have talked to about Grunge likes the product...the corals, I have talked to one guy in the area who said they did not survive the shipping.
If it is just a coral order, I would have to agree that Deb has waited too long without a response. I believe that she has waited long enough to jump butt on everyone and everything. Will be sure to update and take pictures of its nasty looking appearance once, and if, it gets here!

I'd be interested in knowing how it works too becky. I was going to go with the fiji gold mud but if the garf grunge is better I'll have to look into buying some. Although I really don't like that automated response "earliest convenience" yeesh.

Grunge is full of all sorts of stuff. The only problem with it is it usually has a dark color to it so I would not use it as your top layer of sand. Oh yeah, add it VVVVVEEEEEEERRRRRRRYYYYYY SSSSSSLLLLLLLOOOOOWWWWWLL LLLLYYYYY since it dusts up really bad.
LeRoy's wife has some sort of neurological disease that has her confined to a wheel chair. From time to time she ends up in the hospital so that may add to the delay.

Dammit, I was so ready to jump butt and my order is only a few hours old (I was in complete prep mode), now I am depressed.
I bought a bag of sand to cover some of it. I am going to try and put it toward the back of the tank so that I won't have to look at it. I'm ready to go, regardless.

I called them once, and Leroy talked to me for hours! His wife was in the hospital, and he needed someone to talk to. Sort of glad am a nurse and know what is going on, and what to tell him. Anyway, he is really nice and a good business man also.

Becky I have been looking for the receipt no luck so far. But I think I payed $ 5.00 shipping on 1 lb. But don't hold me to that it has been a while and my memory went on vacation some time ago. You will want to shut down your pumps when putting it in and let it settle. I put mine behind my rock work it is ugly but out of sight.

For what it's worth, I heard that Leroy's wife was very sick; terminal. Perhaps he is preoccupied.

So Leroy dropped his phone in the water and I had to call my order back in. Turns out I am getting 2 pounds of grunge for free.

It is good news...considering that if the bozo contractors laid our plumbing under our homes (like they just did at the Air Force Base back home), I might be moving into a new house shortly. I had a pipe burst today and everyone down the street from us has a flooded back yard. Do you think housing has shown up yet to turn off my water?

You know it just really amazes me that we have all these "above average" intelligent Armed Service members risking their lives on a daily basis...yet when it comes to base housing they have no stinkin clue as to what is going on. One might ask "how can this be" simple there is no such thing as "broken" in the military world. There is defective (ie my pipe broke therefore it is defective) but broken...that would mean admitting defeat and lord knows we can't have that happen.

That is what happens when you take the phone to the 'library'. Anyway, the people that I ordered the coral from, have not contacted me yet, and the last e-mail I sent, came back as undeliverable.
