Adding cured live rock to your tank is a plus only if you bring it home from the lfs in tubs of water. After that time becomes extremely critical. You have choices of from 2 days to a week, maye more.I would suggest getting your live rock from a cross dock operation where you actually go to the airport and pick the rock up to avoid a two day trip via ups.

well its a local person who is breaking down their tank and have it at a great price. so it would go from him to me so i was woundering if there would be adverse effects when adding it to a nonestablished tank.

I dont see any problem just transport it in salt water.
