Default New Camera, New Pics

I bought a Kodak Easy Share M753 yesterday. Took a dozen or so shots before lights out tonight. A definite improvement over the old film point and shoot I had.

Full Tank Shot

Half my green star polyps, with a porites frag behind, and maybe visible a bit of zoanthid to the left.

The other half of the gsp, with snake polyps to right, and another zoa frag:

Blastomussa Merletti, with zoa frag to left, same zoa that is just barely visible in previous pic.

"yellow" and black ricordeas, more of a faded pumpkin orange than a true yellow.

More pics

Orange ricordea with volunteer porites in foreground, porites piece was in live rock bin at lfs with maybe a dozen polyps and 1 christmastree worm. Still only 1 worm but I now have 3 separate porites pieces, brown polyps with green centers.

Green zoanthids. Look better in pic than irl.

Orange zoanthid frag

3 heads of green branching torch, I have 2 more heads that self fragged (broke off), clownfish just found the torch today and started hosting in it.

Well, the tank doesnt look like that anymore hehe.
My blue tang had ich a month or so ago so went to the hospital tank for hypo.
After 2 weeks in hypo I noticed that he had trouble eating, would charge and miss food, or grab it and spit it out, eating very little.
At 4 weeks in hypo the tang had lost a ton of weight and looked really bad, but had no ich so I cut off the hypo at that point, raised the sg to normal, watched him a couple days and returned to dt. Two days back in display and tang had ich all over it again.
I had hypoed the tang and clown but hadnt hypoed the firefish and blenny because they are less likely to get ich.
Today I tore the tank down to the sand to get all the fish out and restacked it. I had planned to do some adjustments to my rockwork anyway. Its better now but still not quite what I want.
All five fish are in qt undergoing copper treatment.
Planning to run copper for 5 weeks then 2 weeks of observation in qt before I put fish back in display, will give me a lot of time to get rockwork perfect (haha) and bring in some new corals.

tough break Dave...I hope the tang gets his weight back. I've read that copper is supposed to be the last resort but is quite effective..let us know how all goes.

I had him in the display, with ich, for over a week to see if he would shake it on his own, or at least regain some condition before putting him back into qt. He pretty much filled back out in that short period, sunken stomach gone and also put back on about half the weight he lost in his body too. I was thinking about leaving him in display with the ich since he was doing so well, but the clown had a couple specks this morning so I yanked them all out. I spent this months aquarium budget on the camera, so I wasnt going to be able to buy anything new for the tank anyway, so its a good time for it to be fishless.

New pics of yesterday's restack. Old stack looked decent but had a couple issues, first being that it was too tall, both the pillar and main stack came within 3inches of the surface, second I had rocks close enough to back wall at the base that I wasnt getting the flow behind the stack I wanted.

End shot from left end of tank, crappy pic but shows the new opening along the back wall of tank that runs full length.

Kodak Easyshare 753, it was $140at walmart, plus a memcard. It has a macro mode, and x3 optical zoom.
Obviously doesnt compete with Canon/Nikon dslrs, but ok for a cheap point and shoot and will hold me over till I can save for a nice camera.

Edit-- Its crazy how small this camera is, no larger than a deck of playing cards, but very easy to navigate the settings on it.
