I think if you can find a dite that delivers to Anchorage they are worth a try. It's so hit & miss, some people refuse to do it.
What did you think of your LR order from the guy in FL?

i bought from Pacific East ( PacificEastAquaculture.co m ) and i must say they are absolutly great.. i really highly recomend them. overnight shiping got to my house at 10:30 am.. and they are very communicative.. Blue Zoo looks like a good site also.. just check them out and go with ever you feel good with.

Dr. Clyde- I LOVE the rock i got from the guy in FL, i'm sure if i bought the rock locally, it would have been better, but for what i paid (3$/lb including shipping to alaska) i'm very happy. I will have to post some pictures soon...

I went ahead and ordered from there... guess we'll see how it goes, i'll let you know! My snails are suposed to arrive tomorrow! i'm staying home to wait for them!

Also have two jawfish comming from Liveaquaria.com =)

I purchased several things from Bluezoo I love them! Their customer service is wonderful. Definately suggest them for your purchase!

Rachel, how did they treat you on shipping & how did they sent your stuff? Might have to check them out. I hate to admit this but the local Petco seems to get interesting stuff in at a great price. I would just be real carefull on getting any of thier water in your tank. The have a 4 -5" golden clam right now for $50 & I paid $80 for mine at the reef. I hope someone buys the golden clam soon cause I don't think he will survive very long with thier lighting.

I've used both Blue Zoo and Pacific East. I recommend both without hesitation. I had a Sinularia coral from Blue Zoo die and disintegrate within 2 days of arrival, though I don't think it was their fault -- they gave me a store credit which I didn't really expect.

STAY AWAY FROM MARINE DEPOT LIVE -- They don't mark their shipments "LIVE ANIMALS" and the FedEx man just left it on the porch. The shipment died and I only got partial credit. I'll never use them again.

Well, it went well, i got my snails today from blue zoo, and they all seem to be looking good! Although i did order two jawfish too from liveaquaria.com, and one didn't make it, he died in shipping =( and the other isn't looking well... we'll see...

Clyde- the rock guy was great, i was able to tell him what sizes i was looking for, and he got them for me!

After the death in the mail today, i will try to find stuff locally if i can... it just sucks, they dont have great selection... =(

Sorry to hear about the jawfish. Did the other one make it? I hope Blue Zoo gave you credit. Ordering by mail can be "iffy," but most reputable companies take that into account with their guarantees. I've lost a few myself when ordering by mail. LFS's are great if available; my nearest one is over 90 min away and with gas prices.......
