i found a product called "stabilizer" works great, it is suppose to be for newly set up tanks but will work on already cycled ones too. you use it for 10 days, at first you think it's not working but on day 11 i checked my levels and every thing was normal and my levels were all messed up when i first started using it.

what type of water are you using? its basic, but ro\di water needs to be used. also make sure the salt is nitrate free. if you use a sump\refuge add chaeto to the sump. it removes nitrates naturally. if you have a wet\dry and this is an established tank then lightly rinse your bio media in fresh ro\di water to remove some waste buildup as it causes nitrates. hope this helps.

I recently also have had a build up, but I know why. I have been adding B Ionic (a 2 part solution) and calcium to my tank and all of my testing had shown near to perfect, so I reduced my water changes to every three weeks. Within the last week, my nitrates went through the roof. I was able to reduce it by doing small water changes every 18 hours for three days. Before I experimented with the B Ionics, my habits were feed every 2-3 days, adding RO water through the week and water changes every Sunday and nitrates were never a problem. I am going back to my old ways. I would think if you are feeding twice a day (which sounds like a lot), more water changes would be recommended. Hope this helps.
