Yes I am sure there is some but must be minimal with the openings in the screen and the size of the cloth.
Can't help much past this sorry, let's see what others have.

Thanks for the idea !
Is that a metallic cloth or synthetic (plastic?) cloth; and what did you make the frame out of?
TIA !

The screen is called 3/8" pond screen, you can get it anywhere they sell pond supplies. Make sure you get the 3/8 because they also have 1/2 that the packaging looks the same around here. The frame is plastic and is available from Lowes in the section where the screening is. The screen lays on the frame and is put into it with that rubber spline just like in a window. Then there is a top pc. that snaps over it. There are also corner connectors to make the frame with. Pretty easy, if you can't figure out ask someone for some help.

The Crocea died Jim. I have tried 4 clams in my tank one was a deresa that did well until I traded it in when I went bare bottom. I have tried 2 crocea and one maxima. They would last a week or so and then just shrivel away to nothing but a shell. I will not try one again in this tank, I think I may have too much turbulence for them.

The little clams are tough. Need fed. People are still arguing what to fed them.

Since Ians gives us permission:

Clams under 3" cannot produce zooxanthelae (plankton contained within the cells) through photosynthesis therefore spot feeding of nano plankton is needed for it to grow. (Ca also). Once mature, a clam may never need feeding since it can produce what it needs if sufficient light is provided. Clams are great and easy to care for if you get your tank set up for them. I know you you can do it just get a bigger clam to start. If your cube is PC lighting Id get a Derasa or a brown colored Maxima. The brown clams need less light therefore are easier to start off with.

That green crocea looked pretty cool.

Thank you. The tank is a 29 bio cube with a 150 watt 20k radium bulb so I know the lighting is sufficient. Maybe I will try a larger one, hmmm.... now where to put one. Yeah that crocea was a beaut!

to answer the original question...
Yes gobies jump.
It all depends on the other tank mates but yes they jump.
I have had 3 firefish jump
and 2 other misc gobies.
Of course I have a very intemidating vlamingi that is over 8" in length and when he wants food they move quick and sometimes it is up.
Go with the screen.

gobies are notorious jumpers. that's just what they do. they like to spend time outside of the water and usually in order to do that they jump. sometimes to their own demise.
