Icon5 how many 3 inch fish for my 55g and 12g

I'm glad to see how well the site is doing, it's been awhile.
I'm getting my fish now. It's been a long few months from when i lost everything after my apt. flooded. still don't understand what killed them. So I would like to clear my list and get some feedback.
would 8 fish push it too much? I know the 10 g per fish, but since it depends on the type I thought I'd check. I think 1 will do for the 12g
I want playfull fish.
Set- up 12g eclipse sw kit. 55g with 2 - 30-60 gal hang on wet/dry filters, 55 lb lr and a 1/2 inch sb
I also need to know of a few cheap mushrooms or polys that take moderate lighting, and are lower in cost than about 60 bucks. please note that I haven't keep them yet. easy care only. Thanks, this is a big choose. good luck to you !
list;
2 ocellaris clowns,
2-3 blue chromis,
1 yellowhead jawfish,
1 six line wrasse,
1 royal gramma basslet
1 red scooter blenny.
is that too much? it is on the heavy side. if I need to narrow it down, I would like to hear which are most playfull.
clowns and are def.

if you could choose 2 out of 3 of the following, which one and why;
yellowhead jawfish,
royal gramma basslet
red scooter blenny. one of my fav. I love how they bury thier body! I'm getting a larger clean up crew as well.

what kind of Marine Plants (Algae) are easy care and moderate light req.

The issue on having so many fish, even being a smaller size, still however will not leave out aggressiveness. For one, the sixline will become aggressive after time, as well the clowns and im sure that the chromis will be killed. And I understood from a good many others, that I not remember off hand at this time, but I think that the basslets are more aggressive then the blennies. But in any case, a smaller tank, you would need to proceed carefully. There be a good number of corals that you could manage with VHO lighting, so that wouldn`t be a problem.

I would include the jawfish. IMO they are th most interesting fish you can have. I have a tiger stripe (black cap) jawfish in my 24 gallon tank. He has burrowed under the edge of a rock and has build two little entrances and edged them with empty shells. He is rearranging and stacking the shells all of the time and is fun to watch. When other fish come around he will spit sand and small rubble at them! Very entertaining to watch.

I have 2 Perculas (Mated Pair) 3 Chromis (1 Adult and 2 Juvies) a Six-Lined wrasse, plus a Yellow Coris Wrasse. None of them ever have problem's together, however they were introduced into the tank in short intervals with the wrasse's coming last, so they wouldn't establish territories against the more community fish. And if I had to pick 2 out of the 3 I would go with the Jawfish, just as topher stated, they are very entertaining to watch. And also with the Red Scooter Blenny, they are also very entertaining to watch, however do use caution with them together as they are both sand skimmers. Say the Jawfish digs himself a nice cozy little burrow in between the LR and LS, and the Blenny scoots on by the opening, Jawfish doesn't like this, Blenny is unprepared, terrible outcome.. Also, sorry to hear about your apartment dori, that really is a very unfortunate occurrence. One of my buddies up in Washington State had the same thing happen to him, lost everything he had. My condolences.

Tony

Ok, I choose;
1 yellow jawfish,
Sand Sifting Sea Star (Fiji), Qty:1,
Six Line Wrasse (Indo Pacific), Qty:1,
Astraea Conehead Snail, Qty:2,

scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp (Indo Pacific) - Small, Qty:2,
Banded Coral Shrimp - Small, Qty:1,
Horseshoe Crab - Medium/Large, Qty:1,

Banded Trochus Snail , 6
Ocellaris Clownfish - Tank-Bred
Royal Gramma Basslet (Caribbean) -

my husband gets a regal tang for our 10th wed anniversary. I have to get a 75- 100 gal. and will turn my system 12 into a refug.
I have ordered some Chaetomorpha Algae as well

i plan to get, a small Green Fluorescent Mushroom and a Candy Cane Coral (Fiji) - Small. please fill free to share any care advice you see fit. This is the best tax refund ever.
How fast do regal tangs grow? We are having a house built from hunter homes in 3 month and will move then, so i want to wait on the 100 gallon till then. That will be the final tank!

I plan on putting my gsp in the 55 and will have the 20 g to change to a sump or qt. i might use it instead of the 12g for a ref. but will need lights for it.

Lots too do!!!!!!!!!!

btw my gsp is now 4 inches long and well. The only ones to survive the flood are a turbo. snail hermit crab and 2 nassar snails and jaw the gsp. I'm so proud to have had that fish live about 2 yrs. and the crab and snail 3 yrs.
I have got 3 people in to this hobby.My sister is still in fw but hopes to have money to do it and I have now doubt she will do well!

Thank you Reef Builders.

Hey Dori, your stock list looks like your preparing it for anything and everything hahaha. But its better to be like that, then to need it and not have it . I'm glad your recuperating well from the flooding occurrence, and also happy you returned to the forums again. Good to hear that your GSP is thriving again as well! I can't wait to see your new and improved setup! Jolly Jolly Good
