| It appears that when ever my wife and I have visitors to the house my fish hide .It does not matter if they stay 10 feet from the tank.I have never seen this before. They hid all day today and would not even come out to eat at there normal noon time feeding. However as soon as the quests left they were out in full force and hungry.just curious can fish see that far from the tank?If so it then means they can reconize people. |

| Yes, I've seen many different types of fish get scared when you stand several feet away from a tank so they can see out of a tank just fine. Also, certain fish in my tanks have been used to me being around so they stay out when I'm in front of the tank but hide when others are present so I'd have to agree that fish can recognize differences between people. Maybe not tell the difference between faces, but at least by their physical shape.
