I just lost a scooter blenny after having him for less than 72 hours. It could be a week or 2 before I replace him. There almost needs to be a forum for those in mourning over our swimming family members! He was in my son's 20 gallon (he is only 3 years old and does not need anything bigger) and I am wondering what everyone is using for their tanks that perform similar duties. If there are any alternative ideas, I am more than willing to entertain them.

blenies, star fish, gobies, thoes are just a few for examle that sift sand. if your tank has not been set up for at least 6-8 months you might not have enough junk in your sand for them to eat. so simply they starve to death a vary common problem. only from experiance. 3 salt water tanks in 3 years. after established vary fun fish to watch. good luck

serpent stars are great cleaners, i have 2 in my 30 gal and they're all over the place

Nassarius snail, diamond goby. I have been thinking about a starfish just don't know which one yet. I saw a small red one that is supposed be reef safe, but I don't remember the name.
