Feed it lots of nori or (green sea weed) on a algae clip..

These fish get white spots when they are stressed etc and are very prone to ich, I've found the strong feedings of nori daily along with good meaty meals at night keep mine very fat and healthy

You feed your tangs algae on a clip right ??

(keep in mind tangs graze ALL DAY on the reefs in the wild)

They just LOVE nori and cannot get enough

do you have any cleaner shrimp in your tank? those hippo tangs love to be cleaned by the shrimp...well, at least mine does. i saw some white spots on him a few days after i bought him...i ran out...got a cleaner shrimp and it went right to work, no more spots.
