Default 6 line wrasse as main fish in 30 gal cube??

I am ready to add a first fish in my 30 gal Oceanic cube.It has cycled and my clean-up crew is doing well. Would anyone suggest putting in a 6 line wrasse first?.I think I want him for my main fish, probably will add a firefish, mabe a small perc. clown, and a royal gramma. ( of course all added slowly over the next 2 or 3 months.) I have heard different views as to the compatability of 6 lines and Royal Grammas.and if not a Gramma, how about a purple Psudocromis? Just trying to plan. I'd be gratefull for all your help.

30 gal Oceanic cube
Remora protein skimmer
dual satellite lighting
hot magnum filter for mechanical filtration
900 powerhead in tank
65 pounds live rock
40 pounds live sand

i think you can fit more than just those few fish in your 30gallon. i have 9 fish in my tank:

scarlet hawkfish
firefish
maroon clown
green chromis
orange spotted goby
scooter blenny
neon goby
hippo tang
blue bundeon

and the usual cleanup crew:

emerald crabs
hermit crabs
snails
peppermint and cleaner shrimp
horseshoe crab
2 flame scallops
black brittle star<----this sucker grabs anything dead on the floor near his cavern and takes care of it like no ones business

i do my weekly water changes, remove about 5 gallons and replace with pre-mixed saltwater from my LFS, add RO water as needed.

i feed them 1 time daily and add the phytoplanton 1 time daily.

check out my pics in the softcoral forum above. tell me what you think

Thanks for the help, I plan on faithfully doing water changes in mine also. So far I just have my clean-up crew.

I bought a six line wrasse the other day. I'm sure it was subliminal because I see "Six Line Wrasse" posting on this site, but he is a very cool fish. He's in QT now, so if all goes well he will be in my reef tank in a few weeks.

I like the colors they have. They seem like they would be fun to watch. I hope that when I get mine that it wont just hide all the time.Good luck on your purchase, please let me know how it does when you place him or her in your tank.

He's a beautiful fish. I kept a close watch on him the first few days because I have heard they can be bad about jumping out of the tank, but he seems to be content. I don't expect him to hide, there's a piece of PVC in the QT that he sleeps in but other than that he stays visable and is constantly prowling around looking for food. I'll let you know how he does when I move him.

Congrats Dara, they are cool fish. They are eaters, and if you decide to get clams after awhile, they are awesome at eating up all the bad pyramid snails that prey on clams.

I've had a 6 line with a Royal Gramma & no problems.
