Default feeding corals esp. lps

what info does anyone have on the feeding of thes animals. i have read different sources but, i am always ready for a new perspective, idea, angal. or whatever. does anyone direct feed and if so how and what do you give them. i work in a hospital so syringes are not a problem. also how often and how do you know its being absorbed?

I've read that you can use syringes, turkey basters, and I saw somewhere some guy was using a large bowl or pitcher or something with a hole in the bottom. He would cover the coral, and just spray whatever food through the hole, without others going after it or it getting caught in the current.
