Default Has anyone had luck keeping a Yellow and Atlantic Blue Tang together?

I am getting conflicting info.

Here is the cast and crew:
150 gallon tank up and running 18 months (not a reef)
  • Lazy Black Volitan
  • Yellow Tang
  • Huma Huma Trigger
  • Shy Dog face Puffer

Looking to add:
Fiji Puffer
Baby Snowflake Eel
Atlanctic Blue Tang

Any thoughts are appreciated...

Thanks,
Jessi

the main thing to look at with tangs is body shape, it the body shape is different then you should be ok, a powder brown and powder blue will kill eachother unless your tank is huge

All good info...Thanks so much everyone!

The bummer is the Yellow and Atlantic blue are exactly the same shape, but not color (obviously). I would love to get a Blue Hippo tang...but I purchased one once and it died the next day!

I will keep thinking about it.

Thanks again,
Jessi

good quality blue hippos are very hard to come by in the lfs, they are so sensitive if you are going to buy one you should inspect it while at the store.

1. When you look close does it have any white spots (Ich)
2. When you look into the tank does it try to hide or just stay put, a healthy fish will swim behind rocks or a powerhed
3. look at the head and lateral line bc these fish are very sesptibale(SP) to marine head and lateral line erosion
