I dont think the author cares either way if its true or not. He is just reporting what is known and thats not much. But he doesnt mind pointing out that the science of either test was flawed and if not cruel.

I'd go along with that - we know how green I am. But yeah, he did point out the flawed logic, and the cruelty of dissection a little too flippantly...

It is surprising considering this is all marine biology and how many institutions there are, that there is so little science. Maybe marine bio is focused on larger situations and more sea-oriented and public aquarium stuff.

It'd be interesting to see if we can find more scientific info on a number of related subjects.
