Was the tang put in before the wrasse? It could just be a territory thing, even if they are supposed to get along okay. How big is the tank?

One suggestion is trying to pull the tang out into a separate tank for a week so it "forgets" the tank. That way when you reintroduce the tang, the wrasse will just be part of the scene, not a threat

My tank is 30 gallons and the tang was added before the wrasses.

It sounds like a territory issue.

Tangs also like space. Take the movie Neemo for example.

Dory: "Just keep swimming! Just keep swimming! Just keep swimming swimming swimming...what do we do? We Swim!"

Your tang may just be trying to find ways to swim around and get some exercise in. Follow that wrasse!!

LMAO!!

Blackjacktang, you may also try moving some of your rock around...
That makes them think there some where new...
I also have a hippo tang and she always picked on newly added mates
but they always got along after awhile... even tho she does get fussy now
and then and chases everyone in the rocks...
