Default Worm on my clownfish

I woke up this morning and my clownfish was acting really weird. He was swimming around really funny and was acting like he was dying almost. When I looked really close I noticed a bubble on him. When I looked even closer I noticed it was a worm type bug. My husband was able to get it off of my fish and I took a picture of it. In the picture it's on a Q-tip so that should give you an idea of how big it was....it was extremely small. Does anyone know what this is??

After getting that thing off my clown is acting normal again...

I just asked my husband and he said yes it did have a shell. He said he tried to smoosh it and it wouldn't smoosh so he had to pinch it to kill it. He said it was kinda like a flea...

Like an isopod? Fish lice. Definitely not a good thing to have. Shimek's Marine Invertebrates suggests that this might be a problem for a few months as long as your tank has a host (i. e., your precious fish). After removing the specimen from your fish, you want to QT the fish and treat so that you can avoid infection. Ich is a nicer thing to have!

After doing some research it looks most like a cirolanid. How do I get rid of these? I got the one off my clown fish out...is it most likely there are more? And where do they come from?

Same thing. Shimek says 2-3 month fallow tank. Could I hope that you only have a clownfish???

Might want to see what others have to say, who have had this problem. But if you can, yank your fish out!

May have came in off your LR.

I only have the clown and 3 damsels...not really concerned about the damsels...they were only 5 bucks and I plan on taking them back to the store when I get different fish...they were starters lol. I don't want to lose my clown though, even though he still wasn't that expensive I like my clown haha. I guess i'll have to take the fish out for a few months then...will those things bother coral? I'm guessing not but thought I'd ask =)

You probably just have to remove your fish.
