Default Fish in 75 gallon

I am setting up a 75 gallon and I'm wondering what fish are good to put in there. I realize its a lot of opinion, but I was medium and smaller fish. I want a lot of color, and i want them all to get along. Thats the key. Any comments on what fish you added and in what order to add them

Here would be my suggestion. All of the fish area good relatively hardy fish and usually fairly cheap so they make good starter fish:

1 of either 6-line wrasse, royal gramma, or purple pseudochromis
2 - clownfish
1 - yellow watchman
1 - coral beauty angel (some say there not reef safe, I've never had any problems)
3 - chromis
1 of either Foxface rabbitfish (Venomous) or yellow/sailfin tang

BTW - The list is a "fully stocked" list and I wouldn't add anymore than that. If anything, you may consider dropping the chromis from the list so you don't overstock your tank.

When you add live rock that tank will get a lot smaller than you think. I believe ryan was just being conservative and giving plenty of room for the fish to grow. If you like color... how about anthias ? a yellow/purple tang ? or a colorful wrasse ?

That's 9 fish in a 75 gal tank. You need to take size into a consideration, and granted there is only one large fish in the list, but by the time that you add LR and corals, one fish per 10 gallons is a good number. If your tank will be a FO or FOWLR, you can add a couple more fish to since you don't have all the corals taking up space and the water quality doesn't have to stay quite as clean.

BTW - That is only my suggestion, there are a ton of different possibilities for specific fish species. You could substitute a Flame Angel for the Coral Beauty. The key to figuring out what fish you want to keep is pick fish that won't pick on one another and won't compete for the same food. the YWG and 6-line would both eat critters, the tang would eat algae, and the rest of the fish eat primarily flake food. 2 dwaft angels or tangs in a tank that size would probably end up fighting.

Here's a good compatability chart that you can use for deciding what fish you may want to keep.
