Default Pinstripe Wrasse

I have a Pinstripe Wrasse in my tank, and I've noticed that I can't find him sometimes at night. I always thought he was just hidding in the rockwork. Well. last night I was sitting on the couch watching the fish, and the Wrasse went to the bottom of the tank and burried itsself in the sand. ?????? I've looked online for some info on the fish but have come up with very little. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this type of wrasse?

Very cool. He is aerating your sand bed. I have heard of some fish that do this. I don't think this is abnormal for some wrasses. I don't believe you have anything to worry about.

The weird part is that he stayed under the sand all night, and when I got up this morning he was out swimming around again.

Personally I would call it a blessing not a curse. I enjoy the strange things and I would find it entertaining and would take videos to show my friends the strange things my fish do. It's normal behavior for him and perhaps your wrasse caught a view of you getting into bed and pulling the covers up and decided to copy you with the sand bed. It is a "BED" after all.

Yeah I've tried to video it, but he gets shy when the camera comes out...if I ever get it on video I'll try to put a link on here so you can see it
