Default what causes a fish to go off balance

My silver tip shark ( cat fish) that i've only had 2 weeks started swiming funny last night. these are very active fish, so it's lack of doing laps scares me Today he is rolling around or proping himself up. his water checked out great. I can't find anything wrong that u can see. Please let me know is u can. He is not in sw, am posting on all forums to get reply.
I've read that he needs to be slowly over a 3 year ,peroid, changed to salt. If any one has one, let me know what water. I think at least brackish. Thank you.
Could it be an intestanal infection? will tetracycline help. If i will not eat it will it desolve in the water or do i need a diff med?

Default Re: what causes a fish to go off balance

he didn't make it I know it wasn't my fault but, that's making it worst 'cause I don't know what happened. I found the rec. from the store. I had him 9 days. I have looked him over now that he's not moving and there isn't anything wrong on his out side. Is it safe to put a diff. fish in there or will the bio-filter keep what ever he had alive? I need a better enviroment for my red clawed crab, it's in freshwater but, should be in brackish. Let me know what I need to do to make that tank safe. I don't want to start cycle all over. Thanks
