what would u rec. as starting fish for me for a 55 gal. note that it will have 2-4 clowns. the faulse p. or nemo one. I'm starting out with fowlr. My son and husband want a star fish. Is there one that is easy? I like the raccoon butterfly fish. What light do feather dusters need?

yes, before we give any info, it would hel that you give us all the info on your tank so we can pick out the fish that will be most suitable for your aquarium. give us EVERYTHING. parameters, lights, filters, skimemr, uv, lbs of live rock and sand. crabs, snails, amount of algae, ro/di?, anyhting and everyhting.

Has anyone told you that you wont be able to keep 4 clowns together? After they grow up and pair off they will start fighting each other for space.

ahh, iv'e tryed to remember to do that. At this monent I have 2 10gs and a 20g. I will be getting a 55 in feb. I don't know much of what to get. It will be FOWLR clowns r a must. I have looked at sumps and other things but aren't yet sure what why I'm going. You can assume lowest lighting as little equ. as poss. I know I'll need stuff but want to start as simple as I can. Full sw, sand, and lr are all I realy know to say. I'd love you're take own what is a must for a 55 FOWLR . I plane to use artificial plants rather then rushing caring for coral and anemones. I do Love feather dusters, though. I do believe we will get a sump. srry i can't help more

OK, first, get Live sand, not crushed coral. get 1-2 lbs of LR to every gallon of water. /get teh best skimmer your budget will allow, and the kimer should skim AT LEAST 2 times your tank volume.

Definately get a sump, it will save you a lot of hassle.

as for lighting, since you only want to FOWLR, look into compact flourescence. they will give everything nice coloration, and also provide enough light for some of the basic corals. later if you want to upgrade, upgrade to t-5's with individual reflectors.

i'm getting the sump. there is a picture of it in the gallery and lfs has the one for $139. a lot less and no shipping
Aquarium Filtration: All-Glass Aquarium MegaFlow Sump Filter Wet/Dry Filter
my husband likes this one
Wet-Dry Aquarium Filters: Marineland Tidepool II BIO-Wheel Filtration Module
Which is better? Is this ok for 55g
Aquarium Filtration & Water Quality: SeaClone Protein Skimmer
sand is how i'll go. i assume this one it better;
Reef Aquarium Filtration: Supplementary filtration for reef aquariums
but prob. cant get it. not my husband want to mount a x- box in the car too this tax time. we split it. he spent his in 2 hours last year and mine lasted 6 months. I did hope seeing how he want the clonw fish that we would do it differant this year. I'll might have to do it with 1,000-1,100 dol. I was hoping not to have to use all I get in a year my disability check
goes straight to rent

well, honestly, I would just go for a custom build sump. make it large as possible and still fit under the tank, that way you dont have to buy a HOB refuge. As for the skimmer, look into ASM, Euro reef, (this is where someone else adds their 2 cents.)

If you are absolutely set on the wet/dry, i would go for the tidepool. I am only saying that, because it looks like it is a little larger and has more room.
