Default A reef safe butterfly

Hello,

I have been doing alot of research on butterlies and it seems that the two that are somewhat reef safe are the long nose and the copperband. My questions to you all are who has had reef success with one of these and who has had success with another type?

Thanks,
Jessi

Copperband-Great fish! Please reasearch this fish as it could need some special food requirements. Calm, get along with others and very visible during the day (and night)

My husband caught a pair of Spotfin Butterfly fish 2 1/2 weeks ago while diving in the Gulf of Mexico. They seem to be doing great. They have been in Qt and I just released them in my larger tank and seem to be doing fine. They haven't chewed on my Xenia yet. I did have trouble getting them to eat at first but I figured they were in shock from going from the wild to domestic life.

I do not have a reef tank but I had featherdusters and caulerpa macroalgae in my tank. I bought a copperband and he ate it all. He is a great fish though. Peaceful and eats frozen mysis.

Copperbands are great fish but DO eat dusters and COULD pick at SPS.

If no SPS and you don't care about your dusters...choice
