Default got a cleaner wrasse!!

WOOOOHOOOO!

Im so excited! I used to have one, but it decided to go skydiving, and the chutes didnt open. So for a few months now, I have been looking for one, and finally my lfs had one!
It was in their system for almost a week, and I watched it eat. It looks like a nice healthy fish. Unfortunately my QT is MIA so now I will just put it in my DT.

Here are a few pics of it in the bag still, being acclimated.

More to come when it is out of the bag.

And no, I am NOT mixing the store water with my water!!! I at least know better than that!

I think this guy will have a wonderful future! Within minutes of being in the tank, my clown, coral beauty, and yellow tang, all opened upp their gills for this guy. Here are a few vids I took.

thanks!

I have read that they can be very difficult to care for. but I guess that all depends on what type of fish you have. a lot of their diet is from the cleaning of the fish, but not all of it. fortunately all my fish will allow the cleaning, so there shouldnt be any shortage of dead skin to gobble up.

Just keep in mind this is one of the fish they say "shouldnt leave the sea" as they dont have everything they need in a home aquarium.

I think they are a very cool fish though, and if to be kept in a home aquarium, it should be kept in the larger tanks.

yeah, I know, but I have done a lot of research on them, and found they are just fine in a 55g reef setting. It has a few fish to clean, gets food 2x daily.

Hawaiian Cleaners are the hardest.

Cleaner Gobbies also are a longer lasting animal.

2 weeks to 2 months tops for Imported cleaner wrasses in the hobby.

Good lunk sir!

I had one before, but he jumped out of the tank. I had that one for almost 6 months.

No but there are a few of them at my LFS i have been eyeballing. I was thinking about adding one to my fish only but I'm afraid the triggers will pick on the wrasse. Glad to here yours is doing great! I just brought home a pink tile star, 2 orange and blue ricordia, and a zoo rock with orange and neon green polyps covering it!
