Default Ocellaris v. Mandarin- anyone have any fighting?

Has anyone had an issue with their common clowns attacking dragonets? The smaller of my two clowns is behaving aggressively, but I haven't seen any damage yet.....

And before anyone flips out about a mandarin in a 12 gallon, you ought to see the cloud of copepods swimming in the water column....

I think you may have already answered your own question. Clowns can be aggressive and you have them sharing a 12g. that maybe why there are fighting...

Its possible only keeping 1 clown may resolve this, this also could end in the death of a Mandarin. It really comes down too 12 gallons and no place to hide..

I think Nano tanks are better kept with 1 fish or coral only.

Though seemingly defenseless in their slow swimming and "scooting" locomotion, this group of fishes is widely unpalatable… some evidence exists that their body slime is toxic or at least unpalatable. This info comes from WWM. Based on this it highly unlikely that your oscellaris would actually physiclly attack the mandarin.

It is possible to house a dragonet and a clown together. 2 clowns and a dragonet in a 12 gallon, sounds like you might be asking for it from many angles. One clown? Sounds doable. Ask a clownfish how many of that 12 gallons is his territory; he'll say "All of it."

Thanks for the info. I was wondering because they have all gotten along well for the past 6 months. Lately the larger clown has been seen "snuggling", while the smaller started charging the mandarin a bit.
