Default snowflake eel

this new snowflake eel of mine is really starting to become a joy to watch. containing him in the tank was a challenge but now that i solved that..its fun to just watch him hiding next to a piece of live rock. as soon as i drop a piece of freeze dried plankton into the tank he comes out of no where to the surface...and goes to town..i need to tape some video of him...i am just scared eventually he will get too big and i wont react quick enough and he will get a fish or 2 before i can trade him.

how fast does a snowflake eel grow with regular feeding???

I have had mine for about 8-10 months and its grown about 4-6 inches since he was put in my tank and thats feeding silversides every couple days. He also is getting pretty mean to other tankmates he chases the lion around and has no trouble stealing little pieces of food that I put onto my black longspine urchin I am sure that he gets stung but always gets the food.

what are silversides? <--too lazy to just look it up...sorry. so, about how big do you think your eel is right now length wise and about how thick? i am going to hold onto him as long as i can at least until i see him with one of my more expensive fish in his mouth..then he'll have to pay the price. seems like mine only comes out when i drop in the plankton..never see him when i put the brine shirmp in.

little silver frozen fish about 1.5 inches long. My eel is about 12-14 inches long and at his thickest 3/4 or an inch thick but the more he eats..... seems like it grows pretty fast and mine comes out every other day or so when its feeding time and occasionally just to show off to the others in the tank. Most of the time he is hiding with a couple inches and his head sticking out of the rocks.

i wonder if my lil snowflake eel is too small to be eating those silversides? he is rather small, maybe 7 inches long, bout as thick as 1/2 a pencil right now. do you think freeze dried plankton is enough for him right now? i dont want him so hungry he goes bezerk and kills my other fish. are silversides available at most LFS? can't say i have ever seen them offered.

no prob man just cut em in half and he will eat em fine I think mine enjoys grabbing a whole one just so he can make a mess out of it. Ya should be available at any LFS if not I also have fed krill from time to time.
