Default A serious issue with my fish! need help asap!

I got a damsel, I have had him since I started my tank more than 2 years ago. I took him from my 55 and put him in a 20g long. He was doing great, then all of the sudden got some sort of disease. I dont think he is going to make it especially considering I will be going away on saturday and no one will be here to take care of him. My question is simple. What is teh fastest way to kill the poor guy? I dont want to cut his head off or anything extreme like that. I really dont want him to suffer at all. I already feel bad for him as it is becasue I took him out of the 55. I wish I could do something for him, but I dont think that is an option. ANY and ALL advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

When it was obvious that my third chromis was going to die I put him in a plastic bag, with some of the tank water and put it in the freezer.

Freezing with or without water is highly recommended by many.

OK, thanks. I was debating whether to do that, or just flush him. I wasnt sure which would be faster.

Don't flush him...
The ziplock and the freezer the deaden his nerves.

What kind of freezer are you going to put it in? Don't use the freezer in the refrigerator. They don't get cold enough. You need either a stand-up or chest freezer to do it properly.

uhh...
I dont see any reason for that. Unless you are talking about how the RO water would cool a lot faster, but the bag was already moistened cuz I used the bag to catch the fish.

Discharge a CO2 fire extinguisher on it - he'll freeze much faster!

I was thinking of that! How I could just get some dry ice and put him on that. He would freeze within seconds. If I even have to do this again, that is what I will end up doing.

I thought this whole exercise was so that the fish wouldn't suffer anymore! Bag fumes causes severe pain in the ffrontal lobe! I wrote all about it in my fish disease and treatment thread!!!!!

I would pay good money to see a fish attacked with a fire extinguisher...well maybe not "good" money.

You should've just run a hose from your truck exhaust pipe to the bag. The CO would've put him to sleep & he wouldn't feel a thing. Now he's going to feel cold & shiver!!

Or rubberband the bag to the exhaust pipe.

And we all know that when a great person dies, they have a ceremony, so, instead of flushing him down the toilet, or throwing him in tha garbage, I thought I would give him a little respect.
