Default Lionfish in tank/Zebra eel

I just bought a new lionfish and put it in my 55 gallon reef. Its a small Volitan and im a little worried about it doing ok with my other fish. i have a small blue hippo tang, two dif clowns and a six line wrasse, they are all pretty small fish and i the next month or so I am moving everything into a 180 gallon. and In the store I work in we have a zebra eel maybe a foot and a half, Has anyone had one of these? what I have read about them they are shy and do not mind other fish. I want to put this in my tank, what does everyone think?

AHHHH HAAA,

My vavorit critter,

I have a 36", and 28', and 16" Zebra Eel. They are fantastic! In all cases I have them with Pacific Cleaners, Sally lighfoots, hermits, and pepermint shirmp (Other fish too)

Only the pepermints have seem to shrink in population. The are afterall a Shirmp/crab eater.... The bigger they get the more damage they can do to the rock work. The big one has been known to yank the feeding tongs into his cave smoking the rock work, and knocking down some corals.

I feed them about 15-20 cocktail (big eels) shrimp every other day. They only go after my triggers and puffer when the fish take the food away from them. Even then it's just a poke. Just try to keep clear of carpet anenome's or other stinnger anenome's.

Hope that helps

With most eels and lions you just have to make sure that the rest of your fish dont fit in their mouths. It is said that if it can fit there, it will end up there.

I did have a foo-manchu. He ate all my green chromis (didn't really like them anyways!). The zebra "usually" only eats inverts. There are exceptions. I would expect that if you did not feed them to sation, and starved them out... the would go after the fish. The lion is a deffinite risk. keep it well fed, and get it on tong feeding
