Default Achilles Tang

I am looking for an An Achilles and pretty much every place that advertises is out.. Its a seasononal Hawaiian fish, and from what I can tell winter is the time they come in... It's been about 2yrs now of moderately looking...

Anyone have an idea or link???????

I should be able to get one for about $150.00

Thank you

Thats a matter of opinion, I wouldnt put a naso or powder blue in my tank, but some experts dont think even a hippo shouuld be in a 90... I think an achilles would be just fine, my rabbit, yellow, hippo and powder brown did just fine.. An Achilles would be ok.

I have a sailfin in my 60. I would not put another tang in my tank tho. My LFS and I have this thing where I grow one then trade it for a baby and 25 store credit.

i found a link, but they havent returned my calls, i checked into their reputation and they got terrible reports so i am back to square 1. i would want a small/medium, and i may just go with a powder brown instead. everyone keeps telling me its a spring fish, but with the new hawaiin laws it will be even harder to find and more expensive...

I'm actually becoming leary about it as well, thats why i am leaning towards the powder brown which to me is a close 2nd.... Similar to the Naso and the Achilles, just smaller. We had one but it didnt make it.

What I know of Achilles Tangs is that they come from very high energy zones in the wild, and tend to do very poorly in aquariums. Powder Brown is probably a better choice with a somewhat better survival rate. Also not sure but Hawaii is or has adopted new collection regulations which may include the Achilles. If so Achilles are going to become scarce and very pricey in the near future.

With this being Said I have this to Add! A Powder Blue or Powder Brown and most especially the Achilles Tangs are among the hardest to have in an aquarium! I will tell you that the Equipment running the tank Means everything in keeping these Fish! High Energy Zones as mentioned above My Belief if very High current and Highly oxygenated water are needed for these fish to stay healthy, among their Diet being just as important.

This is my system About 3 years Ago
