Default How to qt a copperband butterfly?

My qt tank is 10gal with a large pipe for hiding so it's got some room but, with a 2-4 inch copperband, would they be ok in that qt tank for 4 weeks? The ones at my lfs eat well on frozen mysis so I'm not too worried about that, oh, have garlic as well. How/how long would you qt this fish?

A 10 gal qt is a little small. 20+ would be better.

3-4 weeks in qt is the norm.

Did you know copperbands are difficult to keep ?

I am not planning on putting anything very large in my tank, mostly babies and stuff like that. Do you think i could get by with a 10 for a while, it was free

Yes, I know they're difficult. I have done lots of research on them, watched them at the lfs in their tanks, and waiting patiently until I feel my dt is ready for one. I won't be getting one till May at the earliest but I like being prepared, especially for this fish. Since I'll have birthday money, I may as well get the 20gal for the quarantine then use it as a freshwater tank since the copperband will be the largest fish in my dt. My kids will like that.

Have plenty of frozen mysis and garlic to get him eating in qt, I also am going to get a vitamin supplement soon for the fish and inverts I have as well.
