Default Golden Head Goby

I have had a pair of Golden Head Gobies for about 2 months now. I have been feeding flakes in the morning and mysis in the evening with no problems. Over the last couple of days one of them has stopped eating and does not come out of its cave. It looks thin while the other seems to be getting a belly.

The Amonia, PH, nitrate, nitrites are fine. I did a 20% water change today just incase there was something I was missing but it does not seem to have helped.

I tried to find something on mating incase it was the case but no luck.

Any ideas?

I would try soaking their food in garlic for 30 minutes before feeding and target feed them with the turkey baster or a bulb syringe. Garlic is usually helpful for some sickness as well but if anything it should get him eating... let us know how he does!

I would be feeding more than flake and mysis.

MEAT MEAT MEAT!

They'll eat the mysis, brine shrimp, squid, cyclopeeze, finely chopped krill and silversides, clams, mussels, just about anything that is considered meat. Help your fish out with a vitamin supplement like selcon. They need essential fats just as much as they need protein.

Good luck!

Is it still sifting? If so you can bury food chunks just under the surface of the sand in the area it sifts the most.

So I should be feeding a better variety of meats than just mysis?

Should it be a variety every day or switch every other day?

I did notice this evening when the day lights switched off the Goby did start to venture out and took a few mouths full of gravel. Should I try keeping the day lights off for a few days along with the other food?

TY

Another note, they are not sleeping together tonight. The one that has not been eating is sleeping in the original home while the healthy one is sleeping in hole he dug on the back side of the tank this afternoon.

Maybe the hole on the back side of the tank is the same as having to sleep on the couch?
