Re: Out of control diamond Goby If you are able, I would put all live stock in a seperate tank for a day and move the rocks so they are in direct contact with the bottom glass. If you don't do this, the rocks will probably be undermined and fall munching some of your livestock. If you try and do this with livestock still in the tank, you will end up starting a cycle by releasing a bunch of nitrates. When/if you decide to do this you should also use SeaChem's Stability. This will increase the beneficial bacteria to counteract the cycle that is going to happen and shorten the time you are able to get the stuff back in the tank.
I have used a similar process when I switched out my crushed coral for sand. I have the #0 size and my diamond goby doesn't create clouds anymore. Just sometimes spreads it on a rock that I will blow off with a turkey baster. |
