Default Help!

In my 30 gallon I have a strawberry dottyback, yellow clown goby, 2 percs, and just recently added a McCosker flasher wrasse.

Ever since I put the wrasse in the female perc clown has been attacking him. He now just hides behind the filter. I have tried taking her out for about an hour and letting him come out and establish his territory...it worked for the night but they are back at it. She chases him so bad he jumps out of the water... HELP!

Well, imho, I would take the new fish back or trade for corals or whatever else you may need because 30 gallons is just about enough room for the fish you had in there before adding the new guy, especially with a mated pair of clowns, they're very territorial. I think doing this would save you a lot of headaches, and the loss of a fish... How much live rock do you have in your tank? That's something to consider also with territorial fish, if you have a smaller tank like we do (mine's a 55 gal) if there are plenty of caves and/or rock work the territorial fish are a little more laid back since there are so many 'territories'. Let us know how it goes!

well, actually they are not a mated pair...the bigger clown came with the tank (I just picked it up tuesday?) and I added a clown I had which is significantly smaller. Unless they decided now they are a pair. I know I have at least 30 pounds of rock. There are plenty of caves...she has chosen a bunch of mushrooms as her host on one end of the tank but she will patrol the whole thing just to not let him down.
