Default Black and White Ocellaris

Ok i found tank bred black and whites on sale. So im gonna do it! But my question is one, do they NEED a host and two, whatt will the host to? I was kinda hoping i could get them to host to a frogspawn or torch coral. I thought that would be more interesting that the run of the mill anemone. What do you think? If not, what are some anemone choices?

I would assume you found them on Drs. Foster and Smith. From there it will tell you what they will host and what they wont. Also, you do not need a host anemone, but i guess it looks awesome to watch the interactions.

they only tell you 3 anemones, but ive heard, and seen them hosting in corals. so what im wondering is what are the chances they will do so? But seens as i dont need a host, i will order a pair. My gf is the best, got me a gift certificate for easter from drs F and S when i got all excited about the sale on these fish. ive wanted them since i set up my tank.

I have a pair of B&W clowns and they hosted to some green fuzzy mushrooms. Most will spawn to a frogspawn.

I would wait a few more months for your tank to mature before adding an anemone.

If you do, try a bubble tip that is tank raised (one that has split in a tank).

Hey jimmi,
Some of the black percs can be very aggresive and will probably do some damage to a frog spawn. My blacks host a BTA but my oscellaris host a huge leather. Hope this helps!
PS my mandarin babies are kickin butt. I'll send you some pics soon.

Here's a picture of some true black perculas in a BTA. Gotta love that contrast. And no they don't need a host,It's just more fun to watch
