Default Powder Blue Tang

So my LFS store has a beautiful one. I just lost my niger trigger, which broke my heart. So I'm looking for another bigger great looking fish. Ihave a lemon peel and a maroon clown now. It's a 75 gal, 20 gal sump, 75 lbs of live rock, 40 lbs of live sand, etc etc.

I think these 3 would mesh ok after they get to know each other. Do you all have experience with this kind of tang? Any suggestions?

Whatever you decide, make sure to QT this fish...they are very prone to ick and are not the easiest fish to keep. But they are beautiful!

I do have a 10 gal qt tank, so that's no problem. I'd keep him in there a few weeks.

Definitely take your time with him and QT for 5 to 6 weeks. I think that as far as your other inhabitants go you should be fine tho maroon clowns tend to be territorial. I might also caution you that many would say 75 is too small a tank for that fish...but that also depends on the size of the specimen.

I had one of these and will not buy another one, you may luck out. I had three nice size yellow tangs and true percula clowns, he was relentless and killed all of them. guess it could have been my continues streak of bad luck. I did not know it was him, till I saw him killing the last tang. I have head that they can do fine with other fish, kinda why? I bought him LOL

powder blue are very great fish. They are hard fish to keep and almost always get ich at some point or another. putting a powder blue in a 10 gallon tank even for a week can stress it out to much.

they are not the nicest of fish either, they tend to pick on others. i would say in any aquarium under 100 they should not be kept.

you can also consider Atlantic blue tang it will be good in a 75.

(dont let me keep you from buying the fish, its a great fish and I have seen cases of them living in smaller tanks)
