Default sohal tang

I am thinking about ordering a sohal tang to live tempporarily in my 55. My concern is even though the site I am considering ordering from Sohal Tang RED SEA says a 55 is ok I dont think it is. However I have been approved for my home loan and will be buying a house this summer and building in a 300 gal tank and I am just wondering if keeping the sohal in the 55 for a year would be ok. (I say a year because although I will be buying the house this summer moving getting settled and building in a 300 gal will take some time)

Also if anyone has some experience with this fish and/or the site in question I would like to hear your opinions.

Thanks

IMO Depends on how big the tang is when you get it and what else is in the 55

I believe in light stocking and tons of LR, only other fish in the tank are a six line wrass and two false percs. The sohal would be about 3 inches at time of purchase.

about 120# LR in tank for him to hide and play, tons of pods

I think you should be alright especially since your planning on upgrading to a bigger tank in about a year. I have a 55 gallon also with a yellow tang 4 in, niger trigger 4 in and panther grouper 5 in. I know all three will probable outgrow the tank but by that time I will either upgrade or give them away to a friend who has a larger tank.
