| I would try soaking the frozen meat in garlic for about 30 minutes, then I'd try offerring it to him closer to dusk hours which I think is when they start to hunt. I could be wrong but, I think I read somewhere they're a nocturnal fish and hide a lot during the day?

| they are nocturnal, so i have tried feeding mysis with just the actnics on, maybe tomorow ill try feeding when its completely dark...ill also try adding the garlic, i have some laying around....thanks...hope it works..the fish is awesome looking... |

| I just remembered, they probably will eat any pods you have in your tank too, I wonder if he's eating those mostly at night! The pods don't usually come out till the tank is dark, then they'll start wandering the tank for food, which is funny because I'm willing to bet $ that they're what the betta's eating! Is he looking underfed or does he look healthy, just not eating when you feed? I've heard somewhere on this site that if you put a red light on the tank when it's dark, nocturnal things won't be scared away mostly.... maybe you can see what your betta's doing in the dark with a red light? Let us know!

| He's beautiful! Great looking fish! I wouldn't worry about him, he's eating something and I'm betting it's the pods. If you don't have a place (refugium, overflow) to have some cheato or someplace for the pods to repopulate I'd do that sometime soon, just to make sure he keeps getting enough of them to eat. Awesome fish, I wonder if my tank could handle another fish.....

| the red lens is a true statement, for some reason these guys cannot see, to them its just brite lunar light. I had one on my smaller tank, there was stuff in there that I didn't even know I had. another thing, they have came out with a red transparent fishing line, fish just cannot see the red. I would, if you try that is, to get some feed-back, love to know what comes out and surprises you.
