Default What do I get?

OK I'm submitting this in the photography section because I thought it would be the best place. When I get my tank I want to be able to take some pictures of it. However I have never used a "fancy" camera. I've used an old Intel pc/digital camera that didn't even have zoom or anything. I've used a camera phone and the pics are better than my intel camera. I've also used one of those old school rectangular cameras that you used to have get film developed. Never used a 35 mm or anything like that. No video camera experience. So cameras are very new to me. I was wondering in all of youse guys opinions what would be the best digital camera for a beginner to get....keep in mind I'm not a millioanaire either. Thanks for any help

Tony
