My flower tree coral has not be doing as well lately. It is kind of shrinking down, but is still bright orange. This is my favorite coral and I want to make sure it is being properly fed. I feed DTs every 2 days or so, but am thinking about starting to feed with Coral Frenzy. the coral is at the bottom of the tank with medium - high flow and low lighting. Any suggestions for feeding this coral better? It is my understanding that spot-feeding is not necessary with good flow. Any help appreciated. Also, when I feed DT's, it is usually just after the lights go off, and I turn the skimmer off for at least 3 hrs.

Not sure what coral it really is. Sounds like a carnation Coral to me. If it is Carnation (Dendronepthya) It will probably die as these rarely last more than a year in our tanks. It does require spot feeding and I do believe is a non-photosynthetic coral. Sorry I couldnt be of more help.

Here it is: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...80&pcatid=2080 It appears to be doing better today after a water change. I picked up some Coral Frenzy today and am going to start feeding it tonight. this coral has survived in my tank for over a month with just feedings of DTs. I have never spot fed it or my Flame Scallops. I think the Coral Frenzy may be the food I need, as it contains the type of food Live Aquaria recommends.

Good luck with both the carnation and the flame scallop. Both will more than likely die in time. Enjoy them while they are healthy! ![]()

The Flower Tree is doing well now. Just wanted to update. Flame scallop died. They look really good but I've read several places that they don't live very long....even in the ocean.

| Probably be a good idea to avoid those two types of livestock for your tank. ![]()
