Default toadstool frag from the stalk ?

I have fragmented toadstools from the crown before, but will it grow if it is from a piece of the stalk ? I was given a toadstool that was dying and I cut the dying parts and was left with 2 pieces of the crown and 3 pieces of the stalk. Will the pieces of the stalk be able to grow back? I heard that any part could regenerate but this will be my first time.

Default Re: toadstool frag from the stalk ?

I would think so. I fragged a toadstool a few years ago. I cut the crown off completely and then sliced it up like a pizza. The stalk that remained on the rock grew a new head within a few weeks. Quite amazing.

In your case, the coral was already unhealthy so i would keep a close eye on the stalk fragments and get them out of the water if they start to disintegrate.
