Default brain coral, kills my colt

just adding a warning to prevent what happened to me recently,, i had a beautiful, colt coral, very healthy and continuing to grow,,, had to move a brain coral because it outgrew it's space on the live sand and moved it (inadvertently) under the colt... within three days of their interaction,,, the colt was dead,,,,,,

Ow. This is what worries me the most because coral toxicity is not my thing. One has to be uber careful with placement.

Yikes !!!

That is no good.

I have a small brain which is sort of under my colt, nothing's happened yet (thank god)

Sorry to hear about the loss, I'd be super bummed if my colt died!

Sorry about the loss. I also am learning the hard way about agressiveness. I'm not 100% sure but I just lost my Trachyphillia brain coral to either my colt coral or my BTA (which wandered nearby).

I'm watching the live rock near my colt coral as well as my BTA for a DMZ (aka demilitarized zone).

Walkerj14,

I was just reading about coral toxicity when I saw your tradgedy in the headlines. I am wondering about a green tongue coral I recently purchased as I put it in the sand near a Christmas tree coral and would hate to see either die.

I found an article in the mag. below which may give helpful insight on things to look for in coral compatibility, eg. mucous producing, overgrowth and shading out others, etc. Compatibility issues have always been my hardest challenge. I hope you can get another colt.
