Default aptasia

SO i was looking at the lfs today trying figure out what coral i wanted to get first, figured i would find 3 and research them, I noticed some of what I thought was aptasia, I found 1 nice piece of LR with 3 or 4 diif things on it that I liked, I didnt notice any on this piece, Should I avoid getting anything from these tanks?

Thanks John

Getting somethig with aiptasia isn't the end of the world. Get yourself a peppermint shrimp & it will take care of the problem.

I came across a new product at my lfs and its called "joes juice" and you just squirt the aiptasia with it and they eat it and later on die and it dosent affect anything in your tank not fish corals inverts..

Joe's juice will work. Just be sure to get it on the anemone before it closes and swirl any remnants in the water quicly to disperse.

And If you get a piece of coral that has aiptasia on it there is a chance you could move it to your tank. All It takes is a little tiny spore and it can get moved into your tank. It happened to me. Its no big deal...

Only problem with that is it needs to be used with cation. The acidity will bring down your PH. if used too much.

well, yeah, but it would onlt be a tiny amount. you inject the lemon juice onto the mouth of the aptasia.

you are basically giving it a shot.
