I would have to first ask when you feed phyto how do you do it? The reason I ask, when I feed corals I shut off all my pumps so there isn't water movement then I squirt the food all over the tank, let it sit for 15 minutes or so, by that time all the corals have had a chance at some and then I turn the pumps back on... there will still be food in the water so they should continue to feed...

I agree with Clown Xenia seem to love iodine. My pulsing xenia spread like weeds and all I do is add iodine, no phyto. But be careful when adding it, you really don't want to overdose your tank with that

You can get iodine test kits from any number of online retailers like MarineDeport, DrsFosterSmith, etc. There are a few different kits available at varying prices ($15-$45).

I am sure that the accuracy varies, but any test is probably better than blind dosing. Maybe someone else out there can recommend a specific brand.

I have not gotten a test kit yet, I have been dosing per bottle instructions on the lugol's bottle. With exception of cutting back 2-3 drops. So instead of dosing 7 drops- I have been doing 4- working out great!!
