hey. hw long should it take for my new yellow leather to open? i got it mail order it looks to be in great shape but, how long until it opens fully? i have it at the bottom of the tank fight now. anyone with any feed back or thoughts plz shoot them my way.

From my experience with leather coral it took about a week for it to open up.

i just got some as well, and its very touchy right now, started to open and just as something touches it (me), it retracts immediately..

My LFS told me to start low with it and move it closer to the lights, mine isnt yellow tho, its greenish blue and i cant remember the name of it...

It can take anywhere from the next day to a week or more, depending on how different your water quality and lighting is from the tank that it came from.

thanks foks, mine cetainly doesnt look bad it just doesnt stick out its polyps yet. it seems to start with tiny little bumps but they never extend. however, it looks to be in good shape as far as color and structure. i will keep an eye out and update.

i am happy to say he is opening up more lately. dont remeber any coral taking this long to aclimate.

Same advice for leathers is the same advice I would give a man about women...Just go with the flow...
