Icon13 Ring around the coral?! Help!

I'm attaching pics but I am very interested to know why my kenya coral has these rings around the stalk! Is it because part of it is not attached to a rock yet? Also, notice in the pic how the left bottom part that is on the rock is turning a dark color? My coral has double it's size since I got it back in February but, this is new and I want to be sure it's not sick! Anyone know what is going on? Thanks for any help!

P.S. The little lr on the right side is what it was half attached to when I got it, I leaned it onto the larger lr and it's almost half attached to it now but there's that little half inch gap at the base of the stalk in between those rocks, would that cause these symptoms? The coral still opens up and seems happy...

Is this condition a first and that's why no one's helping me?... I'm assuming it's ok, still opening up but, hoped someone would confirm that or enlighten me.

Mine does the same thing. I thought it was just normal growth. Otherwise, I dunno.

Well, the part under the invisible ring on the stalk is now shrunk or shriveled! I also see a couple of dark lines inside the stalk going vertically towards the heads, is this about to split or is it sick or just very unhappy? I thought I'd be able to find more info on this but no luck yet! Thinking about seeing my my lfs lady will make a house call! They're less than 5 minutes down the street!

Hi Dana
Your kenya tree coral looks great/healthy I had one that had that black ring around the bottom of its stalk..no idea why or if this is normal but they do break branches off and grow baby trees all over your tank...be ready with some plugs lol
