It will probally last an hour or two, for those who want to car pool up to Normal for the work shop they will need to leave around 11:30a.m.

Anyone unfamiliar with the area Mathers Rd is off Veterans Parkway/Rt 4. It is located East of the Meijer Store across Veterans. Turn East onto Mathers Rd and go around curve when you come to next curve it is the 1st building on Right. It is the site of the old Aqua Pals store (no affiliation). If coming from Decatur/Taylorville take appropriate Rd to 55 South until you see 72 exit toward Jacksonville take Chatham exit to stoplight and turn South, cross overpass and Mathers Rd will be on Right.

Its pretty easy to find If you are unsure of directions or prone to get lost PM me in advance and I will give you my number to call in case you get lost.

I think our first discussion should be a meet and greet and sit down and figure out what everyone expects or wants from a reef club?

I suppose we could set up agendas as far as having workshops, topics and frag swapping at meetings.

We need to figure out what sort of club this will be and if we will have dues and elected club officials. I wish I could go to BNARC to see how their club is setup... so whoever is attending see if some of their leadership will go over the way theirs is run. I suppose then we should all meet again to get a feel for how our members want our to be run.

I cant think of much we would need dues for unless the club got huge and new members got a membership package with a bumper sticker, t-shirt and alot of printed material. The majority of the projects we will be doing and DIY workshops will be on our members equipment, so the cost would be incurred by whoever is getting their equipment redone. T-shirts could be ordered but paid in advance by members wanting one etc.

Saturday is approaching so anybody with input would help alot.

Also, if you plan to attend the 10 am meeting in Springfield let us know in advance so I can figure out how many tables/chairs to setup. Looking forward to getting this going!

I agree with what youve said. I also would like to discuss funding for a private club site, where it would be free to post in the forums and such, but to attend meetings and get all the benifits of the local club you would have to be a paid member. As far as tshirts, sitckers and so on to have some premaid then sell them for funds for the club to help out with cost. Even though they are no cost to run the club these funds could go towards raffles at meeting or help out with club trips.

I would say we need some kinda members board. Club President, Secretary, Club Treasurer and so on. Maybe nominate & vote these ppl in.

That would be a plus with name tags could write s/n's on them along with actual name's, if you want to be called "LadyG" or by your real name thats up to you.

I will not be bringing a tank to be drilled as i had said I would. Im sorry to let every one down.I ordered a 40 gal long from Fishin Times in Pekin for 91.00. it will be in next week. maybe we could drill it next meeting. I am still planning to attend the meeting and will be bringing a few frags. see you all tomorrow. oh and i usually go by Matt.

From the sounds it all went well and the way it sounded hubris007 made it interesting lol

I did (3) 2 3/8" holes so far, was considering drilling my stocked 29 untill I heard about your luck, just makes me nervous thinking about it now, was that a 55 also?

Indeed it was. It had a sticker on the bottom that said "all sides tempered" and they wanted me to show them how to prove if it's true.
