Default OMG, I'm excited!!

OK, this is something that isn't going to happen soon...BUT, I have been telling my boss we need a fish tank...there is a wall separating the bar area from the front of the house (I work in a bar/grill) anyway the wall was originally to separate the smoking from non, with this new law there is now no smoking section...the wall makes it hard for the servers to see when someone comes in. So anyway he was tossing thoughts around and I said we should knock it out and add a fish tank...well he first looked at me like I was nuts, then a few days later asked me what I would have in mind FW or SW...I was like well if I had a choice and you were serious SW would be awesome...but expensive. Then he didn't mention it again. Well a few more days goes by and he comes up to me, and he says...so this fish tank, who is going to take care of it? I of coarse said well I will!! We chit chatted about it again, then it was dropped. Now tonight, he brought it up AGAIN so I really think is is considering it! NOW, if he does decide I can do this....OF COARSE I am going to need some help with things soooooo, ya'll are going to have to help me out K!!!

Anyway, who knows if he will or not, but he does keep bringing up odd and end questions to me about it so I think I got a good thought in his head!

Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

BIGGER is better! I had a chance to get the Charles & Limeys tank, I would have loved to make that tank into a show piece, however I had vehicle problems the week I was going over there and somebody from the LFS beat me to it. The guy they had doing it before that told them that aipstasia anemones actually look quite beautiful when they over take the aquarium! Poor mans fish eating coral I suppose. Plus had regular flourescent single bulb and a string of blue lights for lighting... I'm serious it was one of those plastic tube lights with some blue bulbs in it? I know the guy and wonder what the other tanks he takes care of looks like... its amazing some of the stuff I have seen and corrected

I want to set up some more tanks in public places, I enjoy doing the ones that lots of people get to see. Once the club is up and going we should contact henson robinson zoo and see if they bought equipment and supplies if club could donate labor to make a reef display. I would totally donate some work on a tank for the public... that would be something to discuss, I dont know if that would be a project people would be interested but a plaque by the thing with SDIRB on it would be cool.

sorry i am a little late with this. i have not been on in a while. this is cool. what bar and grill do you work at in d town? Let me know if you need any help setting it up or just to watch and drink a couple of beers. I have gotten pretty good at plumbing after my last build. (i had more money in pvc than i did in the tank) I think this could be a good prodject for the club to build and help maintain. Just thinking out loud. don't be afraid to give me a shout if you need any help. byw i would go at least 180 at the smallest depending on the size of the wall.

LOL, no not in Springfield...I live and work in Taylorville. It is at Jordys bar and grill. This is something he has brought back up to me a few times, but really I'm not sure yet if he is really planning it...his son does manage there to and he did let me know I hit a spot with him because he is into SW tanks...so I do keep bringing it up....don't worry I don't give up easily on things I want so I will keep working on him about it, if ppl really would be willing to help...I'd throw that at him too

Oh and the wall is pretty big...I don't know exact never measured it...but like 15ft long maybe??
