Default how high does ur mag lvls have to be till toxic

the first time i tested my mag lvls it was 2350 ppm, second time after a 25% water (with reefcrystals ) change it was 1700 ppm, third time after another 25% water change with (oceanic saltmix) it was back to 2300ppm. i did all my test with salifert mag test kit.
so my question is, is 2300ppm a toxic lvl of mag to coral, and if so why hasn't it killed my hair algea ?

What made it rise.Did you add some?

Green hair feeds of of nitrate and or phosphate. The reason for nitrate and phosphate can be caused by many reasons from flow to feeding habits to tanks age and water source and ect. . And i dought its from 1 source.

On the Salifert test the reading of 0 = 1500 ppm magnesium. I am not sure where you are getting the 2350 from????????????????????? ?????

If I recall correctly, fresh batches of Oceanic should mix to a mag level or between 1400ppm. Most other salts mix much lower. Have you verified your results with a different kit and have you tested your levels for a fresh batch? Either you are adding something to your tank that is raising your Mag levels, you have a bad test kit or salt mix, or you are reading your kit kit improperly.

yeah i think i tested it wrong cuz i emptied the 1 ml solution then then after seeing no results i refilled it up again then just added the differance 1500ppm + 750ppm = 2350ppm, so can u not do that? anyways i just started to vodka dosing my tank so hopefully i'll see my nutrients fall to get rid of the hair algea
