Default First Acro

So, I bought my first Acropora colony tonight. I had it out of the water for about 10 minutes attaching it to a base. After putting it in the tank it has a kind of spider web like mucus on the branches. Is this normal?

Yes, I have had this happen with many types of acros, just keep an eye on the polyp's. The should start to come back out within the next 2 or 3 days if not sooner.

I got my first acro 2 about a month ago. It was brown with blue tips, I place it on the really top of the tank like three in above water level,(250w halide 20k) the coral was not doing good, no growth. And the blue tips were gone!! The frag it's about 1in with two heads. Then I moved the coral half way my tank and now it's turning green and getting two more heads! Y? It could it be because I had just the halides on but not the actinics? Because after I moved it down I start using the actinics just to make it look more bluer,

what is your problem julio? stay cool man and you will have a nice time reefing dude!

the problem could have been that the acro was not used to your lighting and you just placed the frag too close to the metal halide.

next time place them low and start putting it higher as it gets acclimated to your tank's lighting.

and also next time ask nicelly and someone will help you nicelly.

chillout and start reading before buying stuff and this wont happen again!
