Default basic coral question

I dont know what it is called but I had a rock with corals on it that come out like little flowers, pretty large peice.

It has moved onto another rock, but there is a little bridge it has built from 1 peice to another. Is it ok to cut that peice and move those 2 peices away from each other?

Thanks

There are 2 kinds on this 1 peice of rock and I think you are correct.

I have bright green ones with pinkesh centers and bright oranges one with tan centers.
