| I would like to nominate my tank as the tank of the month. My husband and I have had it up and running for about 10 months. We approached the creation of this beautiful environment with care and patience. We lost 1 fish in the process and 2 anemones who never found a place they felt comfortable. Everything else has survived being introduced into the environment. We have our own RODI system that can produce 70 gals a day, we change 10 gals of water twice a week on our 180 gal mixed fish/reef tank. We run a refugium full of green plants and live sand and millions (it seems like) of copepods. Our lighting consists of both blue actinic and metal halide lighting. We are really proud of ourselves for taking the time to research marine reef aquariums, slowly adding components to the environment and checking the water chemistry almost obsessively. Everybody gets along. Even having three clown percs (1 male and 2 female) doesn't cause a problem. We love our tank and it give us something to do together no matter what the weather is or what is happening in the world. We are constanly amazed at the little tiny creatures that seem to appear out of nowhere. Each time we introduced new rock we had new visitors tagging along that would soon make themselves known. Some became reclusive (a very tiny white starfish (< 1/2 inch) has only appeared twice). Others are now regular members of the family. We hope you will enjoy our family members as much as we do. |
