Default Clams safe with Peppermint Shrimp?

I've done some reading and learned that certain clams can possibly be picked at by shrimp. I have 4 peppermint shrimp in my 80 ga. and would like to add some clams in the near future. I also plan to add a blood red fire shrimp or two. Are shrimp really dangerous to clams? I don't have any Angels or anything like that. The shrimp is the only critter that I"m worried about. Thanks for any tips.

Hello
I have about 20 shrimp in my tank and there are 6 flame clams. I haven't noticed any issues. But it's only been two weeks

I have 1 derasa, and 1 maxima in my 46 gallon with 5 peppermints and 1 cleaner shrimp. Im not sure how common shrimps eating clams can be and im not saying it couldnt happen but mine have been together for about 5 months and they are fine. shrimp do like to eat off of everything in your tank at some point or another including corals but usually it's nothing thats gonna hurt them. clams are such a great thing to have in your tank so good luck.

Good Question...I'm looking into getting a derasa or squamosa and was also curious about both shrimp and crab compatability. Does anyone have any experience with clams, crabs and shrimp?

The books and research said they were compatible, except that the crabs and shrimp can irritate the clam by constantly walking on it when they go scavanging. They said the same thing about LPS corals, and my Blastomussa, Lobophyllia and Acanthastrea are thriving and not bothered at all.

I have peppermint shrimp, skunk cleaners, fire red blood shrimp and 2 clams and haven't had any problem with them, I don't even notice them climbing or walking across them, that could be the amount of space everything is given as well. Granted peppermints only come out after dark and I don't always watch the tank after dark but so far everything is doing just fine together.
